About No1 Asian Supermarket

No1 Asian Supermarket is an asian grocery store in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It is listed at 2842 St Vincent St, Philadelphia, PA 19149, which places it among the local businesses of Philadelphia that residents and visitors turn to when they need this kind of service close by. Besides its main category, the business also describes itself as asian household goods store, asian restaurant, supermarket, so it may cover more than the name suggests.

Store size varies enormously, from a small corner grocery with a few aisles to a full supermarket chain location in Philadelphia with a bakery, seafood counter and food court under one roof. Sales and promotions are often posted in-store or in a weekly flyer rather than online, so prices listed on a website may be out of date. Seafood markets sell live and on-ice product and can usually clean or prepare fish on request for a small fee. Specialty food stores in Pennsylvania may focus narrowly on one category, like a butcher, a rice and dry goods shop, or an import store, so calling ahead to confirm stock for a specific item saves a wasted trip.

Hours are published for 7 days a week. Typical hours are 8:30 am–7:30 pm. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. You can reach No1 Asian Supermarket at (267) 538-6114; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions.

I personally prefer the one in South Philly because they are cheaper by a $1.00 and a lot of their food prices, not sure why that is. I rated them a 3 because recently I went there and the man wouldn’t serve me because I didn’t speak Spanish, he spoke to other Spanish speaking ppl and ignored me. Finally the young man who was cleaning had finished and came to assist me and he started talking to the guy and then he look at me and I said yes that was very rude of you not to serve me.

Really packed with unfamiliar items to me but looks really good quality fruit and veggies. Fresh fish and other seafood looks and smells fresh. And the store is full of so much variety. Isles could be better marked and prices. Some things are literally lost in translation but it’s fun to see and shop for different food and housewares. Store could use an update. But it gets the job done.

I was very excited my first time in this market. It was extremely packed in there. It was so worth it. Fresh veggies and fruit. A large variety of asian ingredients. I was originally there for ingredients to make dumplings, but ended up buying so much more. I got ingredients to all kinds of favorite dishes and made them at home. It was so much better than I thought it'd be. There's a great meat and fish selection there as well. More surprising was how much live options they offered. Especially the giant frogs that made me jump out my skin lol The staff were friendly and helpful. It was an experience I need to make more often. Safe to say I will be back to try making more dishes from asian cuisine recipes. I definitely recommend this market πŸ‘Œ
